Drexel Men's Tennis Open Season with a 4-3 Win Over Monmouth

West Long Branch, N.J. –Drexel Men's Tennis opened its season with a 4-3 victory over Monmouth in a non-conference match played Monday afternoon. The teams split the singles matches but the Dragons won two of the three doubles matches to claim victory.
Drexel's top three singles players all won their matches. Junior Omar Laalej won in straight sets in his first match at Drexel while sophomore Joe Koebele won at No. 2 singles. With the match tied 3-3, Carlo Pangilinan faced Monmouth's Pedro Bruno at No. 3 singles as they headed to a decisive third set. Bruno had forced the final set after winning a tiebreaker in the second set, 7-5. Pangilinan responded by winning the final set, 6-0, to clinch victory and send Drexel off to a 1-0 start.
